Reaction Time Test

Wait for the screen to turn green, then click as fast as you can. Five rounds; your score is your average, in milliseconds.

How to play

  1. Click to begin a round. The screen turns red: wait.
  2. When it turns green, click as fast as you can.
  3. Do five rounds. Your score is the average of the five.

Tips

  • Rest your finger on the button so the click is all that's left to do.
  • Watch the middle of the screen, not the edges.
  • Click too early and only that round starts again, so don't guess.
  • A wired mouse and a high-refresh screen shave off a few milliseconds.

Questions

What is a good reaction time?

On a click test like this, many people average somewhere between 200 and 300 ms. Under 200 ms is quick, and practice, rest and good hardware all help.

What happens if I click before it turns green?

That round doesn't count and starts again. Only clicks after the change are timed.

Why is my time slower than on other sites?

Every setup adds its own delay: your mouse, your screen's refresh rate and your browser. Compare your scores on the same device.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up. Sign in only if you want your average on the leaderboard.
